Trading Diary ~ Tuesday 6th November 2012

12:00 Midday  (11am UK time)    ~     I’ve had an early start today, I was at Alicante Airport at 7am this morning dropping off two friends who are going back to the UK today, and then back here to do some emails and watch a couple of charts before lunch – and I have managed one (long) trade on my favourite chart (the S&P500) with a 25 pip profit.  Entry was just after 10am and I was in the market for just over an hour.

It’s election day in America today, so by early tomorrow morning we’ll know whether Obama will get back in or whether we will have a new president of the world’s largest economy (only just) The markets are going to react no matter what the outcome is, so keep your eyes on your charts for trading opportunities.  I will report back later with news of any “Evening” trading I manage to complete.

10:15pm   ~     My afternoon was spent at home and just before 6pm I switched this laptop on to watch for any possible trade set-ups. As I have mentioned before on this blog, there is sometimes a occurrence right on 6 o’clock (5pm UK time) so it is wise to watch carefully for any signals to back this move up, and tonight was one such time. I entered the market a few moments after 6pm and came out of the trade after an unusually long time with a 46 pip profit. I would have closed the trade off earlier, but my elderly next-door neighbour came over for assistance as he had dropped his mobile phone in his pool – so I let the trade running and went over and retrieved it, then had a couple of beers while I dried off. When I got back here – the trade was showing a positive 46 points, so I closed it off – obviously I had a stop-loss order set in case it all went wrong

Daily Target Reached ?  YES  (+71 pips)        I traded this morning and the evening session.
