Thursday 31st May 2012 ~ Gold Price Moves Higher On European Debt Worries

8:15am  ~  Read more on the Gold Price Hike here, its value is rising in line with investor worries concerning the European Debt crisis.

This morning has started nice again, the weather is still good for the end of May – I shall be wandering back down to the harbour this morning, there are a few repairs to carry out on my boat after yesterday’s trip out on it.

I shall be back here at home at lunchtime for a cycle ride out towards Halesworth, a round trip of about 25 miles, then a few hours sitting down at this computer replying to emails from markets mastered customers.  I shall then take my NetBook down to the Lord Nelson at 5 o’clock to do some trading while having a few pints with friends and an early supper.

I have an early start tomorrow morning, four of us are leaving a friend’s farm airstrip at 6am on a flight to the north French coast. Getting going so early in the morning means we’ll be in Le Touquet well before 9am for breakfast at our favourite resturant.  There’s no trading for me tomorrow as it is Non-Farm-Payrolls announcement day, as the markets are usually very quiet leading up to the numbers release at 1:30pm UK time.

I will report back later if I have any trade details for you from tonight’s trading session.

00:15am  ~  I’ve just got back home from the pub, a bit later than planned, but I got involved in a game of poker in the beer garden which went on a lot longer than I thought. It also shows me once again that financial traders seem to be better poker players than normal ‘punters’ – there were 3 traders playing tonight, and we cleared everyone else out of their betting pots by 11:30pm  (We only allow £1 coins maximum so no great amounts of money were involved……)

My trading this evening kicked off a few minutes after 5pm, not long after I got into the bar, I spotted a potential trade on my “Any-Time” chart and 5:10pm I was in the S&P500 market with a long trade. The price rose gently over the next hour or so, and I also joined in on the trend with a “Trade With A Day Job” trade at 7 o’clock and just before 8:30pm I came out of both trades with scores of +76 and +60 pips for both trades.

The evening was a very busy one, as well as doing a bit of trading on my NetBook plus an hour-long poker game, there were also some old friends in tonight that I had not seen for over a year, so I completely forgot to have any supper !! Too late now, I’ll have a quick breakfast before we get going to France in a few hours time…..

Daily Target Reached Today ?  YES (+136 pips)        I traded for a 3.5 hours this evening (in the pub…)
