Friday 13th January 2012 ~ Profit Warning At Tesco

8:00am ~     I was up relatively early this morning, considering that normally my Fridays are not a work day for me but a nice relaxing start to the weekend. I’ve just got down here to my study, I have some catching up on admin work for Markets Mastered, so I’ll be doing that for most of the day, and I will also watch a few charts as well to see if we can get a bit of money out of the market today. This is despite it being Friday the 13th – and for all those superstitious people out there, get a grip on your life and stop this nonsense !!

The news is full of a profit warning at Tesco Supermarkets, perhaps a sign of things to come from the other large UK retailers – we shall see. The Tesco share price did suffer a large fall obviously, wiping over £4 billion from the value of its shares.

I will report back after lunch if I manage any trades.

4:15pm ~     I did have a couple of trades earlier while sitting here at my desk, one with my favourite instrument plus a Euro/Dollar one – and all in all I got +251 pips from the markets. My 1st trade kicked off just before 10:30am on my EUR/USD chart, using strategy 3 from my trendFX collection of systems. I let it run and had a quick look every 30 minutes or so and have only closed it off quite recently. It gave me +144 pips. In the meantime I noticed a possible trade developing just before midday on my S&P500 chart and soon after I was in my 2nd ‘short’ trade of the day. This trade also trundled down slowly and I closed it off about 15 minutes ago with a score of +107 pips, giving me an overall profit for the day of +251 pips.

That’s me done for the day, admin completed and profits banked, I am all ready to hop into the shower and then a short walk to the Lord Nelson Pub (The Nellie) for the evening…..

I hope you all have a nice relaxing weekend.

Daily Target Reached Today ?  YES (+251 pips)        I traded the daytime session and had two trades.
