7:30am.         No trading for me today, I have the chance to thrash some Lotus cars around the Snetterton race circuit today with some friends, so I am off in 30 minutes. On the markets yesterday, the FTSE index seemed to take no notice of the dire British unemployment figures, and had a mostly positive day for some reason – perhaps today we will see some profit taking if it gets up towards the 5460 marker.

I wil report back later if I do any “evening” trading.

5:45pm.      I got back here at 4:30pm and after a quick cup of tea, I switched on a laptop to watch the S&P500 index and see if there are any “Trade With A Day Job” signals this evening. There was a nice pattern just after 5 o’clock and a few minutes later I was in a short trade – and it was only 30 minutes later I was out of the market with a +23 pip profit – that will do me for today – I’m off to The Lord Nelson for a swift couple of pints now
