my trading day ~ monday 7th march 2011

Just had 3 days laid up with flu-like symptoms, and of course it now being Monday I feel a lot better – typical!!

No matter, I am off to Florida in a few days time – a friend has a flat in Daytona Beach which is not being used at the moment, so I can stay as long as I like. It will be interesting trading EST time instead of GMT, I will keep you posted.

Back to earlier this morning, I wandered down to my study at around 8:15 and busied myself in setting up my 4 screens with my array of charts and trading platforms. To give you an idea of the set-up I have in this room (as opposed to my larger office above the garage) I have an ‘L’ shaped desk with 4 screens that are run by 4 separate computers plus room for 2 laptops which I use for emailing one of the trading platforms (to do the trades from) Each screen has 3 charts on, spread across so I can (if I wish) see 12 charts without having to touch the mouse at all. I do not generally use 12 charts to trade with, but I like to have some interesting ones up (which I do not trade) like Glaxo, Dow Jones, Barclays, Rio Tinto etc.  I also have 2 flat-screen  televisions on the wall where I watch the news during my trading session and they are also both connected to a computer so I can watch BBC iPlayer, 4on demand etc.

Incidentally if you are interested in wanting to trade my “Any-Time” system (or the ‘trend-followingUSA Forex” one) I will show you a way of getting 4 to 6 charts easily onto one screen, so you do NOT need a multi-screen set-up.

Anyway, I was all set up by 8:30am and my first trade signal on my “Any-Time” strategy came up around a quarter to nine, and at exactly 8:52 I was in a LONG trade. It lasted for around an hour and so just before 10 o’clock I was out with a profit of +46 pips. That’ll do me for the morning session, there were no other signals on my other 7 charts and I also was way above my daily target.

My PA Susie came in at 10:30 so we had a quick meeting to sort out the work for the rest of the week (she will be here when I’m off to the U.S.) and then I was out on an invigorating cycle ride – for 13 miles.

I was back in the kitchen just before 5pm to watch for signals on my “Evening” system (Trade With A Day Job) – I just use a laptop normally as there is only one simple chart to keep an eye on – and I spotted and was in a LONG trade around 6:15pm which went on in a nice trend until I came out at exactly 8:35pm with a total of +83 pips. Ted (rookie trader/gardener)was round as well trading with me. He came out a little earlier but still managed +52 pips.  All in all very happy with the days trading, 2 short sessions and 129 pips, a nice start to the week.

Daily Target reached ? YES (+129 pips) I traded both sessions
