my trading day ~ friday 4th december ’09

As I have mentioned yesterday, today is an official “Markets Mastered Bank Holiday”  (so no trading) which occurs on the first Friday of every month due to the fact that the U.S. employment figures are released. If you click  HERE you can find the Investopedia definition of this news release – and HERE is the impact it has on the markets.

If you have a look at your charts, you will see that (generally) the markets will display a certain ‘listless’ nature – they just wander around with no real direction or enthusiasm – until 1:30pm (GMT) or 8;30am New York time (EST)and they then take off in one direction or another. Pure gambling as far as I am concerned.

I did already send my customers an email to advise them not to trade the evening system – although I did offer a compromise if they were dead set on watching the charts in the evening. I suggested extreme caution and to just go for a target of 10 pips, if the risk reward looked ok – and there was a trade at 6:10pm that managed the suggested profit target.

I wish you all a nice relaxing weekend.
