My Trading day ~ Monday 5th October ’09

Good morning – I must apologise for the lateness of this post – I have had some broadband ‘issues’ over the past couple of days, so when I have had the internet on, I have concentrated on trading rather than the admin of the business.

Monday started early doors for me ~ I was keen to be in front of the computers as soon as I could as I had a bit of ‘fun’ organised for the afternoon.

Armed with a giant cup of coffee, I was in front of the screens at 5am, and I waited just 30 mins for my first trade signal on my “Any-Time” system (on the Euro/Yen currency pair) – and that started the day off with +10 pips. Incidentally, I trade occasionally with a friend of mine (1 or 2 days a week) and that is his daily target for the past 6 years !! And he does it full time. It just goes to show you that you can make a perfectly adequate living with a very small daily pip target.

Anyway – I had 3 more trades before I called it a day just before lunchtime – and a total profit of 23 pips was added to my trading account.

I was not back in time to trade my “Trade With A Day Job” system – but on examining the charts, there was the usual 20 pip profit on offer. I also check my ‘GOLD’ charts, and in the afternoon there was a nice long trade (on my “Any-Time” system) that would have given me around 50 or so pips. You cannot be in front of the screens all the time – but when you are, just take the opportunities when they present themselves.

I am often asked about economic news announcements that ‘move’ the markets  and where to find this information. There are many websites that provide this daily information, but the one I use is here .  Part of my daily routine is to check – last thing at night or first thing in the morning – if there is any relevant news for the instruments that I trade on a daily basis.

While sorting my computers out over the past few days, I came across an eBook stored on my hard-drive that I believe is a ‘must read’ for all budding traders – Mark Douglas’s famous “Trading In The Zone” book. If you would like a copy and you not currently a customer of mine, please click  HERE to contact me.  If you are a customer, do not worry, I will be creating a download link later today for you to gain access to it – and I will email you.
