Monday's session opens with competing geopolitical narratives pulling oil in opposite directions and a gold market that has quietly reclaimed $4,200 while most traders were watching the geopolitical ticker. Trump's declaration of a Russia-Ukraine energy ceasefire has pushed WTI down to around $90 and Brent toward $103, but Houthi strikes over the weekend hit Riyadh's international airport for the third time in a week and extended to Saudi Aramco facilities in the oil-rich Eastern Province. Markets are selling the ceasefire headline and ignoring the escalation for now. That gap between the futures price and the physical reality is the week's most important tension.

The week belongs to Wednesday's US CPI, expected to print at 3.6% to 3.7% year on year with core held near 2.4%. The Fed's next rate decision on October 28 is in play, and Polymarket currently prices a December hike above 74%. EUR/USD is sitting at the 0th percentile of its 52-week CFTC positioning range - a historically extreme short that is one catalyst away from a significant squeeze. GBP/JPY has returned to the 209.50 buy level identified in last week's briefing, with a stop at 208.50 and a target at 211.50 for London hours. USD/CHF at 0.8300 carries a 96th-percentile CHF short and a Saudi escalation on the doorstep - a combination that can move 60 pips without warning once EUR/CHF breaks below 0.9300.

Today's single most important instruction: wait for a Saudi Aramco statement on the Eastern Province before touching WTI in either direction. The full briefing gives you the exact levels, entry triggers, and early warning signals across all eight instruments.
