Trading Diary ~ Thursday 17th January 2013

7:35am  ~  Up early this morning, I’m going to have a morning in my study doing emails and Skype calls plus some trading hopefully. I also want to book a flight out to Spain as well, it’s very cold here this morning and the weather forecast is predicting some snow at the weekend.  This afternoon we’re off to Bicester Outlet Village for some clothes shopping. I will report back later if there’s any trades to tell you about.

11:25am  ~  I’ve just come out of a trendFX  ’long’  trade on my EUR/USD chart.  I usually go straight to the S&P500 chart when I open up my MT4 platform, but there was not much happening on there initially this morning, so I then scrolled through my next three favourites, and happened upon a nice strategy 3 set-up developing on the EUR/USD currency pair. The price quickly hit my entry point and then gradually went up over a few hours and I came out with a profit of +56 pips.  I’ve now got another few hours of emails, then we’re off to Bicester after lunch. I’ve managed to book seats for Monday’s flight to Alicante, so I will be spending a couple of weeks out there, away from the forthcoming snow.

7:25pm ~ I got back here at 6 o’clock from Oxfordshire, settled here in the kitchen, poured a beer and switched on this laptop to watch my S&P500 chart for any “evening” system trades. The U.S. market was in a strong up-trend, so I was watching for ‘long’ trades primarily and at 6:30 I could see a trade setting up.  At 6:40 I was in the market and a few moments ago I came out with a 30 pip profit.  I am now going to cook some supper for some friends who are arriving in a few minutes.

Daily Target Reached ?  YES (+86 pips)       I traded for 4 hours this morning + and an hour and a half this evening.
