Wednesday 30th May 2012 ~ ECB Says No To Bankia

7:10am  ~  Looks like another sunny day for us in the UK, and I’m in Suffolk for next few days and taking advantage of the glorious weather taking my boat down the coast for a quite sail today. Plan is to met with some friends at the harbour at 9am and aim to be back by 4 o’clock this afternoon. I’ll then sit down here in the kitchen and do some watching of my charts to see if any trade opportunities present themselves.

Main financial news this morning is the story that the ECB (European Central Bank) has rejected a call to bail out the Spanish bank Bankia - you can read Capital Spreads morning commentary on the subject by clicking on this link – ECB Rejects Bankia Bail-Out

My trading over the next couple of days will be the last for a short while as we have the U.S. employment figures out on Friday, so it’s best to stay away from the markets on that day, and then we have a 4-day Bank Holiday break here in the UK for the Queen’s Silver Jubilee Celebrations, so for all your UK based traders, there’s a 5 day break away from the markets.

I will be flying off to Le Touquet on Friday morning to spend the long weekend break with some friends and from there going down to my place in Altea Hills on Monday for a week of Mediterranean sun, arriving back in the UK late on Friday evening (8th June)  I shall be trading while out there and I’ll report here on my results for you.

Back to this morning, I’m going to have an hour of emailing before I head off to the harbour, and I have also two Skype calls booked just after 8am.

I will report back later regarding any possible trades during today’s late afternoon/evening trading session.

8:50pm  ~   Well tonight has been fairly full-on with regard to my trading. I got back here to the cottage at 3:45pm and got settled in the kitchen with 2 laptops – one for watching my charts and the other one to answer emails through the evening. I fired up my MT4 platform and as it was too early to watch for trades on my “Trade With A Day Job” (TWADJ) evening system, I set-up my “Any-Time” system strategies on a few of my favourite indexes, and almost immediately had a GOLD trade show up. I entered the trade dead on 4pm and the market quickly shot up, giving me +208 pips by the time I closed off at 17:41.

My evening trading session with the TWADJ strategy kicked off as it often does with an occurence that happens almost dead-on 5pm – this has been a mainstay of my “evening” trading system for the past 12 years and has given me a lot of pips over the years. Anyway, my first trade was stopped out fairly quickly at minus 25 pips, and I had my next trade set-up almost immediatley, which faired slightly better and gave me +45 pips, leaving me 20 pips ahead after the first two trades.

Normally I would call it a day at this point, but an ideal set-up from one of my “Extra” strategies showed up on the S&P chart and I entered the market once more. This trade moved very quickly in my favour and netted me +53 pips. Being on a bit of a roll tonight, I entered one last trade I spotted about half an hour ago, and that ended at +20 pips, so making me +93 pips with my “Evening” system and +208 with the “Any-Time collection of strategies.

I must close off quickly now, we have a table booked at The Bell in Walberswick for 9 o’clock so I must get my skates on – we’re going to be late…..

Daily Target Reached Today ?  YES (+301 pips)       I just traded this evening from 4pm until a few minutes ago.
