Tuesday 28th February 2012 ~ ECB Quantative Easing To Resume

08:50am  ~  The markets this morning are waiting in anticipation of tomorrow’s announcement by the European Central Bank regarding their next round of ‘Quantative~Easing’ or printing money as it is sometimes known as – you can read more about the details here

I was up fairly early this morning as I have a few errands to run before I am off to Egypt on Thursday, and I switched on my MT4 trading platform at 7 o’clock in my study to watch a few charts with my “trendFX” collection of strategies while I answered a few emails that had arived from Australia/Asia overnight. When I have numerous things to concentrate on while at my desk, I tend to just watch a couple of charts, but if I’m just trading I’ll keep an eye on 4 or 5 charts, it’s quite easy to do, and I can show you how if you drop me a quick email (at the usual address)

Anyway – back to the charts, I had my S&P500 chart open and a nice potential signal started to form around 7:15/7:30am so I watched for a while to see if it would turn into something worthwhile, and sure enough confirmation occurred a few seconds after 7:45 and I was in a ‘long’ trade right away. I had a short target on this trade of just 20 pips and that was reached quite quickly, and by 8:40 I was out of the market with my target reached.

I am off into to town now ( a 5 minute walk) to pick up some things for the holiday and then I’m off on a cycle ride before lunch. This afternoon I am going to call in on my 81 yr old mother who lives around 25 miles away and then back home for the evening trading session plus a couple of Skype sessions with people from Canada and USA. I will report back if I have any trades.

9.00pm  ~  I did have quite a few trades earlier this evening with my “evening” trading system after I sat down in the kitchen with a laptop. The first one kicked off at 5:30pm and was stopped out fairly soon with a score of minus 13 pips, and I then had a bit of a wait for the next signal to hit the trigger level – and that came up at 7 o’clock. This 2nd trade of mine was also a loser, but only 16 pips this time, and almost straight away I had my 3rd (and turned out to be last) trade – this time it was a winner and I managed to get 35 pips from the market, meaning I ended the evening session with a positive profit of just 6 pips.

It is now time to wander up the road to my local and have a couple of pints before a late supper as the girlfriend has just arrived.

Daily Trade Target Reached Today ?  YES  (+26 pips)     I traded for a couple of hours this morning and also sat down for the evening session
