my trading day ~ friday 8th january 2010
As a lot of you know, today (the first friday of the month) is treated by me as an official Markets Mastered Bank Holiday and I stay away from my trading platforms ! This is due to the fact that at 1:30pm we have the U.S. Non Farm Payrolls Employment Announcement. This gives the employment figures for the last month, and full details can be found HERE
The effect on the market means that the UK morning session is very listless, as traders are waiting to see what happens directly after the announcement – and then after 1:30pm (GMT) the markets react quickly and violently. This makes trading more akin to gambling, so that is the reason I stay out, I am a trader not a punter !
